What is a journey? A journey is not a trip. It’s not a vacation. It’s a process....

gracious uncertainty is the mark of the spiritual...
… it has not yet been revealed what we shall be … —1 John 3:2
Our natural inclination is to be so precise—trying always to forecast accurately what will happen next—that we look upon uncertainty as a bad thing. We think that we must reach some predetermined goal, but that is not the nature of the spiritual life. The nature of the spiritual life is that we are certain in our...
Waste Land
For those who haven’t already seen this 2010 film: watch this documentary. Its on netflix or itunes, or get your hands on it some other way.
Why? How about the power of hope and hard work? That we should appreciate what we have in life? That we should be less materialistic and consider our waste? That even those with nothing can have a 300x better attitude than pretty much all...

Budgeting
I’ve always liked thinking that I just have this great faith that the Lord will always provide for me and my needs [and wants, and clothes, and eating out, and travel expenses, and alcohol, and crafting]; and therefore I have never been the most diligent with my finances. Basically this means I avoided looking at my checking account and crossed my fingers that it would all work out.
Thanks...

Projects
I think I am headed down the dangerous road of beginning too many projects - and not actually finishing any of them. Most involve fibers. I guess I am becoming a fiber fiend.
Cowl neck scarf out of “extra yarn” that I now have to go buy more yarn for.
Rag rug knit out of old tshirts
Tote bag knit of “plarn” (plastic yarn which is essentially cut up grocery bags)

Reading
When I was younger I would sneak under my covers and read by the hallway light long after my bedtime had passed.
Now that I’m older I can barely make it two chapters before my eyes start to droop - but I still love to read and to fill my mind with things that are interesting, inspiring, and educational. While I rarely ever find the time (or motivation) to read my schoolbooks, I always love...

Public Speaking.
Why so scary?
I have to give a speech. In front of 800 people. I also have to MC the opening ceremony, and introduce & thank about 5 different speakers.
I’ve got this.
right?
"Oh yeah, I have a Tumblr."
Christmas break.
Time once again for me to sit around, not worry about repsonsibility, and do whatever it is that my heart desires. It is also during break that I remember I have a tumblr, and that I actually have free time to waste on updating it.
Things my break will consist of: knitting, sleeping, watching movies, improving my fort building, catchin’ up with the Walled Lake scene,...

"Ah, the folly of youth. "
Tonight’s [this morning’s] watch:
Brick. A favorite. Joseph Gordon-Levitt, styled film noir, and fabulous dialogue.
Love the Madness.
Price-matching, point rewards, and fabulous customer service. Reasons I shop at Moosejaw for gear. Kind of. Really its just because they are so funny.
Example A: the intro to their newest catalog.
Perfection.
Tonight, as the sun was setting, I sat down on my bed and dove into a new book. I just finished. It was one of the most pleasant, relaxing, inspiring, and comfortable evenings I’ve had in a while.
